Have a lunch or dinner with sea view in an exclusive location just a stone’s throw from Salerno? Now you can! Re Maurì restaurant has just been inaugurated in Vietri sul Mare (SA), the first village on the Amalfi Coast and so, quickly accessible from the town but already immersed in the magical atmosphere of the Amalfi coast. This is immediately perceptible as soon as you arrive at the restaurant, overlooking the bay of Vietri sul Mare.
The panorama is the perfect setting for a fine and elegant restaurant like Re Maurì, in which every detail has been taken care of with taste and attention to the guests' needs who will be able to feel right at home here.
The multi award-winning chef Oliver Glowig coordinated the design of the building. Today owner of the eponymous restaurant Aldrovandi at Villa Borghese in Rome, he worked for many years in Capri, where he made the Campanian cooking his own, fully identifying with it.
His protégé Lorenzo Cuomo, who has been supporting him in Capri for four years, will manage the Re Maurì restaurant kitchen, assisted by a young group of chefs from Salerno. The young but already highly skilled Lorenzo, from Furore (SA), will offer dishes inspired by the cooking of Campania and prepared with local products. He is the creator of Re Maurì fish soup, a reworking of our wedding soup, in which the meat has been replaced by fish: mullet, octopus, cod and sea urchins so that "for every taste you can perceive a different feeling" the chef told us at the press conference presenting the restaurant.
The Marinelli brothers are the designers and builders of this successful project. They, the managers of Lloyd's Baia Hotel in Vietri sul Mare, wanted to enrich their offering to customers with a restaurant that could open the doors to a new Italian and international clientele, desiring a gastronomic experience out of the ordinary.
Tessa Gelisio was the guest of honour at the inauguration of the Re Maurì restaurant.
Tessa was very happy to be welcomed by the wonderful sun of Campania and fascinated by the sea of the Amalfi Coast. She stayed with us all evening trying the dishes in the cooking shows and watching the fireworks.
