For a long time I have wanted to go back to have a pizza at Gino Sorbillo’s in Naples and yesterday, eventually, I went there.
On any day of the week and at any time of the year Gino Sorbillo’s pizzeria attracts a huge number of customers from all over Campania, Italy and the world. The staff can cope with the workload very well, so nobody ever has to wait very long, either to enter the place or to eat a pizza after it is has been ordered.
The queue of customers in front of the pizzeria has become, by now, a feature of Via dei Tribunali in Naples, so yesterday a tourist who was passing by asked: "What's going on here? How come there are so many people? Are they giving away pizzas?" And a customer’s answer, just out of the pizzeria, was: "There are many people here because you can eat the best pizza in Naples or rather, in the world".
I can only confirm: Gino Sorbillo’s pizza is truly unique, made with passion following the historical family tradition, handed down from father to son since 1935.
I tasted the ‘Nonno Luigi Sorbillo’, dedicated to the founder of the pizzeria
and the ‘Ulderico’ with aubergines
They were both excellent, I can really recommend them!
L’Antica Pizzeria Gino Sorbillo is at number 32, Via dei Tribunali, Naples (Italy).
